### The Quick-Start Guide to Vapor Degreasing

### What Is Vapor Degreasing

In essence, vapor degreasing takes the basic components of classic degreasing solutions and sets them free as floating fumes. You start with a degreasing agent and, by highly controlled means, boil it to a vapor that can move in and around machine parts (suspended above the boiling solvent) without requiring a person to physically apply it. Meanwhile, above your suspended parts are cooling coils that turn the vapors back into liquid. As the condensed liquid degreaser falls, it takes the grime with it.

The entire process is closely monitored so that your parts get the same — and often better — deep degreasing to keep them running smoothly.

### How Common Is Vapor Degreasing?

Vapor degreasing is growing in popularity. - **It’s sanitary.** One of the issues with traditional degreasing methods is contamination of the product as you make your way from part to part. Vapor degreasing is very controlled and ensures you’re only working with an uncontaminated product.

### How Do I Choose the Right Solvent?

In short, it can be complicated. You have to consider azeotrope (similar boiling points), solvents specific to your soil contaminant, and solvents that won’t damage your machinery.
